Everclear

Everclear is a poison of mine. I love it, I hate it-- but let me tell you why.

It comes in two strengths, 150 and 190 proof. Contrast that with hard liquors and whiskeys that are often barely 80 to 120 proof. To describe the taste let me first say, do not ever try to drink this stuff straight unless you are made of iron. If you have ever been sadistic enough to wonder what it would be like to set kerosene on fire and swallow it-- that is what Everclear tastes like. it goes down hard and rough, hits the stomach and feels as if it melts the lining then rushes to your brain where it explodes in dizzying pain and when the lights stop flashing wildly before you-- you realize there was very little taste. It is all pain and burn.. I have seen people pass out with half a shot, and others could not keep it down.

It won't come as much of a shocker to know Everclear is banned in a few states! However, despite the darkness of the 'demon water' as it is called here in my home it does have uses. For instance, when used as a mixer, it can get the party going. But it is very important that you watch just how much you are mixing in the mixers! Its a fast cheap way to spike up a drink and get drunk-- not safe but cheap and effective. My husband and I do make jello shots with it and mixers but we know each other's tolerance pretty well. We enjoy the burn and bite of Everclear well mixed. My advice is leave it alone, it truly is 'demon water' and you will regret it the next morning.

On a lighter note you can use it for medical sterilization and cleaning.. just kidding.
